Overloaded AI - AI for Authors Part 3

The word is out there about Chat GPT and for now I’m waiting for an email to say I can play again. This poor AI is overloaded with people asking it questions, and the system cannot cope. I actually feel sorry for the AI, how crazy is that?

I really don’t think AI’s writing whole novels is a problem at the moment, but I have to say the poems and limericks chatGPT writes to make us ‘would be users if it was working,’ smile are brilliant. The stand-up comedy piece not so. Stick to your poems ChatGPT.

Every day when I try there is something new there to help soothe the frustration. Now I have clicked to be notified when there is space for me.

Did you hear about the new google AI that on launch day made a mistake and cost google billions of shares?

These AI’s are being thrown out into the world, but they are only as good as the humans that feed them information, and the servers and systems they are surrounded with.

I was going to try asking chatGPT for a blurb for one of my books, but hey ho that’s not possible today so

I went searching for another and found…

Rytr.AI - good for ad copes and short form or so it says on google!

Jarvis – looks great but costs lots, took a peek and laughed when I had to tick I am not a robot- doesn’t want competition huh?

CopysharkAI – can’t try it out as its pricey too but it looks like its set up for non-fiction writing.

JasperAI – sounds great in the hype- which it probably wrote - but they want my email before they tell me anything so no exploration possible.

SmodinAi – now this one does have a free mode and the payments are much lower than the ones above, but although it was a snippet of story I popped in the box it felt more non-fiction when it wrote more. I may need to explore this one. It won’t answer a question like ChatGPT but will write more or rewrite I believe.

Oh, wait, it does have a chat option, hang on and I’ll have a go.

Fun and simple-

I asked - can you write a blurb for my story about two boys who discover they need to find dragons to save the world from climate change.

The answer- Absolutely! Your story is sure to capture the imagination of readers everywhere. The story follows two boys, Graham and Jason, on their quest to save the world from the effects of climate change. After seeing the devastating effects on their world, they realize they must find the legendary dragons, whose powerful abilities are said to be the only way to reverse the damage. Along the way they face many obstacles, must confront difficult decisions, and work together to find the dragons. It's a story that speaks to the realities of our world today; of the need to take real and decisive action to protect our planet and future generations. It will be a story sure to inspire young people to take active roles in the fight against climate change, and spark conversations that encourage real solutions, such as those outlined by author Linda Doerr in her book, How to Change Everything: The Young Human's Guide to Protecting the Planet and Each Other.

Oh I like this, and may use some of it when promoting the book.

I’ll be back Smodin. The free version means you only get 3 credits a day to use, but as I’m playing and exploring that sounds fine to me.

Let me know if you have used any of the above AI text generators and your thoughts on them and their usefulness.

I’m sure there are many more, but I need a wee and to get on with some editing.

Oh and the illustration is by Dall. E. again after I asked for ‘a cute chibi style frustrated green robot with a pen graphic art.’

I had a choice of 4 but like this one the best.
